DS1 2 yrs old, has gotten worse over the last 6 months with his snoring. He is quite loud, and still snores when he is on his side (just not so badly) I am not sure if i should be worried or consider getting his attanoids out, or if its a normal thing that every child does. Has anyone else had a similar problem, or got any advise, I would be interested in hearing from you.

Only time my kids have snored (and only a little bit) is when they’ve had colds and blocked noses.

I think its worth a trip to the Dr to check things out.

Snoring itself isnt harmful, but if you notice it disrupts his sleep, pauses breathing (apnoea), noisy breathing throughout the day, choking on saliva, tired & irritable throughout the day, or any other signs, its worth a trip to your GP cures for snoring.

We took our DD1 (now 4) to the GP due to loud snoring, apnoea, tired through the day and huge tonsils with a lump on one. They did an xray to see her adenoids which showed they were enlarged and referred us to an ENT. She’s now on the waiting list to have tonsils & adenoids removed.

Some nights she still breathes alright at night, other nights she pauses breathing constantly. Especially when she’s been sick even a minor cold makes for at least 2 months of terrible sleep! She also chokes on her saliva alot day & night now.

Good luck
